Additional Creative Projects
As part of Fashion Merchandising and Design Interest Group (my course's interest group), I have had many opportunities to contribute to my school. For one, I designed this School of Design shirt for a school charity event. I also filmed, styled, directed, and edited (Adobe After Effects) a promotional video for the shirts in the style of a popular fashion influencer known as Wisdom Kaye.
I started this small business doing jagua ink tattoos (a temporary tattoo ink similar to henna) as it was something I was interested in and wanted to try out. I usually only booth in school events but have plans to expand in the future!
During my first year of running this small business, I focused only on drawing jagua ink tattoos, but recently I have also started to design my own stickers and prints with my own drawings for some passive income while I am busy doing the tattoos. I also have my own tattoo designs that I drew that people can choose from such as the image on the top right.
I feel that running this small business has helped me apply what I learn in school as I have to think about how to market myself to others as there are plenty of jagua ink tattoo business nowadays.
Another event hosted by my CCA is the annual fashion show during TP's open house. The fashion show features the garments from the graduating batch's collections.
I got to be part of the exco team and in charge of the makeup looks alongside my friend. Together we lead a small and efficient team of 6 make-up artists.
I also got to help out in other parts of the show such as curating the garments to be shown in the show.
I am also interested in makeup in general as a form of self-expression and often help with makeup looks for my friends' photoshoots! (garments in the images above are by my friends!)
